International Mother language Day
The International Mother Language day is celebrated on February 21 every year since 2000.the main idea behind this is to promote and preserve the native languages and culture.
- It was first declared by UNESCO on 17 November, 1999 to celebrate Feb 21 as International Mother Language day
- It was announced as a result of the resolution was passed by Rafiqul Islam to commemorate 2 persons killed in Dhaka in language movement on Feb 21,1952
- 2008 was celebrated as the International Year of Languages
